fun at the park tonight

So, I've had spring fever a little bit lately and tonight I figured why not just go to the park. Even though it was cold and almost dark. It was pretty fun, even though Alisa had to do parent-teacher conferences and couldn't come.

I'm looking forward to more days at the park. Especially when Millie isn't so tired and when the weather is a little bit better.

6 months!

Millie is such an easy, happy, fun baby and we just adore her.  Here a some new things about her:

She thinks dogs are hilarious. She laughs at them most when they are running around and when they jump up. Too bad we will never get one!

She still loves ceiling fans and lights, especially the ones in our house. She will look up and smile at them.

When we have been out of town and we get back home, she is so excited to be home again. She excitedly looks around the room and smiles at everything.

She is a good sleeper (most the time) and has started sleeping on her side.

She has started eating solids. So far so good except carrots reek havoc on her system. No more carrots for Millie for a while.

She knows her name.

She likes the world better upside-down.

She has very strong core strength, and is constantly arching her back to make sure she stays strong.

When we are holding her she wants to get down so that she can walk. The only problem is that she can barley hold herself up on her legs let alone walk.

she LOVES her high-chair that attaches to our counter. She swings her legs the whole time she's in it.

She loves sucking on wet wash cloths when she's in the bath.

She loves drinking water from a cup or a Perrier bottle.

She loves it when she sees one of us after we've been gone at work.

She still has the best laugh!  We are always trying to figure out new things that she thinks is funny.  She laughs the most at night when she is tired and almost ready for bed.

She's been sick for a few weeks with bronchiolitis and an ear ache. Poor little girl has been wheezing and coughing and in pain.  It's been so sad to see her sick.  But she is feeling much better and is getting back to 100%.

Grateful (this is a little mushy)

After a day of hearing bad news from more than one place, I felt very sad about all the bad things happening out there in the world. Then tonight as I held Amelia and rocked her to sleep I felt incredibly grateful.

I'm grateful for a healthy family. I am grateful my little girl isn't buried under a pile of rubble and debris at a school in Haiti, or have one of the many diseases that are around and plenty of other people have. But rather she is adorable and letting me cuddle her in my arms.

I'm grateful that I have an amazing wife. She really is amazing! She is so fun and there is nobody who I would rather be with. She understands me, she is caring and gentle and does sooo much for us. She brings so much joy into my world and is an amazing mother. Also she does many things that make my life easier. I would be totally lost without her.

I'm grateful for a job where I work with amazing people.
A wonderful home that we are comfortable in.
And all the little things we take for granted that make life more comfortable and fun.

Sorry that was a little mushy, but I just wanted to say that things are hard for many people, and we are incredibly lucky to be where we are at.

Yeah..... we bike

We just got back from a long weekend of climbing and biking in St. George. We had a huge crew and it was super fun. Alisa and I just got mountain bikes and we were pretty excited to try them out. We went with Jared, Nanette, Scott and Anne and did part of the Bear Claw trail.

I've only biked in Moab and it is fun, but this seemed like way more fun! Check out these rolling hills!

The next day Millie loved the hike out to Turtle Cave. She kicked the whole way out and back and crashed pretty hard when we got out there.

It was a great weekend!!

Here's Lena

The over worked Millie

I'm so excited!

She also liked pulling my hair on the hike out. Better pulling on my hair then yelling in my ear.

Just got back from AZ.

So I just got back from AZ for a week. I was pretty excitted to see the fam. Millie has been saying da da da, the whole time I've been gone and really I just missed her and Alisa.

It was pretty adorable to see how excited she got when she saw me at the airport. She was flapping her arms and smiling really big. It was adorable. It almost made it all worth it.

Also she is getting better at sitting up. She can sit in the bumbo for quite a while and loves it. But she is just getting to the point where she can start sitting on her own for a few seconds before she falls over.

Getting more wiggly

I think soon she'll be rolling around like crazy. But for now she is having a hard time holding up her huge cheeks.
