Great Weekend!

Hey all,
so we had a great weekend. Me and Alisa went up to the Uintas and had a great time hiking around. We did the Lofty Lake Loop and took pics the whole time. It was really pretty and really fun. Alisa is really cute and a lot of fun!

Music Help

Hey, I was wondering if anybody had any good suggestions for music for my site. I put a few songs on there but I want to know what songs you would put on. Any suggestions would be great! No country please.

Fringe

Casey and I just watched the Pilot for Fringe and I'm thinking it has potential.  Here's what I like about it:

• J.J. Abrams helped create it (also created LOST which I am a huge fan of).  The opening scene takes place on a plane just like LOST, but I just don't think it can live up to it.
• There are some really cool effects with words and fonts (I like the attention to detail)
• Joshua Jackson is in it, and he did a really good job in my opinion.  Welcome back Pacey, we've missed you.
• It was entertaining enough for me to want to see another episode.

I just did these portraits with the Richardsons kids. They were allot of fun, also they looked pretty sharp in there tux and white dress. Cute kids and fun to work with. Also their parents are really great. -Casey

Half Marathon

So we went up to Logan for Alisa's race this last weekend. Alisa killed it! check out the photo below, not even all hot in the face and not even really sweating. Hopefully our kin get a little bit of her genes this way. I had heat stroke when I finished the Moab race, and it was in Feb. Pretty awesome girl!

***I have to add a little side not; The best part of the half marathon was the massage I got right after it was done. Thanks Scott and Maggie for the birthday surprise. It was just what I needed! -a

ADHD Cure

So I have been back to work for a few weeks now, but school officially starts on Monday when all the kiddies come back. I'm taking a deep breath and hoping for the best. I've had a rejuvenating, relaxing summer and I am ready (sort of) to start back into the routine of school. I really do love my job but this clip is sort of what I have to deal with sometimes with 2nd graders, and maybe just a little bit of how I want to solve the problem (don't take that too seriously). Mostly it just makes me laugh. Hopefully I will have some entertaining moments to share once school starts.  kids really say and do the funniest things!

**So I guess we've had a  South Park theme the past  couple days.  My clip is way funnier than Casey's though! Mine would have to be the best 42 seconds of TV ever.

**p.s. I need to give a shout out to my sister Jen and brother Jared.  Thanks so so so much for coming into my classroom to help.  You guys honestly saved me! Jen was there for over 6 hours!  All the other teachers were very jealous.

Time to get Healthy

So Alisa and I have been using The Daily Plate to track our fitness and diet. I read an article on how doing this can make you so much more aware of your eating habits, health, and fitness that there is no way you can't get in better shape. Anyways, I feel like it has made a big difference after just a week. check it out.

People Watching

Casey and I went to the twilight concert series at the Gallivan Center the last two Thursdays to enjoy the sounds of Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah and Nada Surf. I don’t know if it was because of where we were sitting, but I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the stage instead of looking at all the bystanders. I got to thinking about how much fun people watching is. I don’t care what people say about Utah, we have diversity. I couldn’t stop looking at people dancing and interacting, it was so entertaining and it made me smile. I saw groups of people that reminded me of myself at different points in my life and I kept expecting to see a long lost friend appear from some chapter in my distant past. I always love seeing people out of their houses enjoying themselves, especially in the summer.
If you enjoy the hobby of people watching, here is a list of my favorite spots in the SLC area for the sport in no particular order.
1. Concerts (preferably outdoors)
2. Lagoon
3. Ritz Classic Bowling Alley on State Street (most bowling alleys for that matter)
4. Farmer’s Markets
5. Liberty Park (preferably around drum circle time on Sundays)
6. High School Reunions (I am only guessing since I missed my 10 year reunion last weekend)
7. Walking around downtown

8. The finish line of a marathon, half marathon, or any other race

Did I miss any?
By the way, the concerts were excellent and they did a really good job. Anyone up for Broken Social Scene next week? I love free concerts!

Sam and Anya's wedding

So I just did Sam and Anya's wedding up in Logan on Friday. It was awesome. Anya is really great and her and Sam are a fantastic couple. I have know Sam for quite a while, and he is a solid character. Also known as 'the smartest man I know' by many people. No really he is a genius for real.

Anyways, I really liked the way these two interacted together in these images. The highlight of the wedding for me was when Anya was starting to walk down the isle, instead of the wedding song coming on, a really awesome techno song came on. We were all laughing pretty hard. Anya is a Russian model, so I really think she could have pulled it off well, but eventually they got the right music and proceeded to the ceremony.

Vintage photo shoot

So I've been shooting for a designer who sells vintage clothing. The shoots have been super refreshing for me and are a blast! Also the models have been really great to work with. If you guys are interested in purchasing some sweet clothing let me know and I'll put a link up.

Zee Austrians

Our second family from Austria was in town this past week and we played like rock stars while they were here. Casey is still trying to catch up on his sleep. I tell you, Austrians know how to have fun!

Let me introduce you to the Hoeferls:

Christian is way fun to joke around with and tease. He is just like a kid in a grown up body. He has an amazing gift for dealing with people and making everyone feel comfortable and welcome.

And then there is Maude who goes on all the rides at Lagoon and goes on rocking boats even though she gets motion sickness. Who goes rock climbing (and ends up being super strong at it) even though she is afraid of heights. She will do anything for the sake of her family's happiness. She is super interesting to talk to too. Her outlook on life astounds me.

We were all so proud of Jeffery who overcame his fear of heights and climbed to the top of the cliff and allowed himself to be lowered back to the ground. He is a climbing machine! By the end of the trip he was getting more confident with his English too. Be confident Jeffrey, your English is really good!

Sweet princess Fiji (Sophia) I don't think I will ever meet such a sweet, cute, kind hearted, fun girl. Her smile lights up the room. She also has a catwalk that blows any super model out of the water.

And finally my nephew Kevin. Isn't he handsome? He is soft spoken, intelligent, reserved, responsible, and a lot of fun. He is naturally gifted at everything he does. I wish I had a little of that. I am so grateful that we have him in our lives. He is an amazing person.

We took them rock climbing and they were all naturals. But of course they were, they are from Austria where they constantly scale mountains in their lederhosen just like on the Sound of Music. And of course they are strong, just look at the Austrian native Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While they were here we spent quality time boating, rock climbing, miniature golfing, go-cart racing, playing laser tag, late night nacho, pizza, and dessert parties, watching The Dark Knight, going to Lagoon, and eating delicious European chocolate. I could barely keep up. Thanks Jen for letting me tag along, I had a great time!

Weekend in Logan

We had quite the weekend in Logan. Alisa had not been up in a while and she misses it so it was over due.  We went climbing, went to Bear Lake, went to a wedding, and hung out with family.

It was fun to hang out with Aubry this weekend. She almost wasn't scared of me after a few days.

So the good news was Ryan and Amanda got married! It was a super nice wedding and we are very happy for them.

They were all laughs the whole time. It was cool to see them so happy.
